Ian McVea is a Fort Worth-based photojournalist and photography educator whose work focuses on visual storytelling. He teaches traditional and digital photography at the high school, college, adult, and professional levels, and teaches a number of workshops. He also conducts one-on-one instruction sessions, tailored to all levels of photography.
British-born, and raised in Southeast Asia and East Africa, Ian received a Bachelor's degree in Management from the University of Texas at Arlington. He worked on staff at the Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram for more than 23 years, where he won numerous awards as a news photographer and picture editor. Now a full-time photography teacher, Ian's work is still regularly featured in major news outlets, magazines and wire services - locally, nationally and worldwide.
